Parking

  • Limited on-site parking is available next to the museum.
  • Additional street parking is available along 8th Street and Main Street.
  • Bus and RV parking: Large-vehicle parking spots are available 1.5 blocks south in City Park or 1 block west along 7th Street. 

Accessibility & Visitor Amenities

  • Wheelchair Accessibility: Our main gallery and exhibit halls are accessible. However, the 2nd Floor Period Rooms are not wheelchair accessible. 
  • Restrooms: Fully accessible restrooms are located near the gift shop.
  • Strollers: Families with young children are welcome to bring strollers.
  • Photography: Non-flash photography is allowed in most areas; check signage or ask staff before snapping photos.

How long should I plan to spend at the museum?

Most visitors spend about 1.5–2 hours exploring the exhibits, but you can easily spend half a day if you want to dive deeper or join a guided tour.

Can I bring my pet?

Only service animals are permitted inside the museum. However, there is dog park located on Jackson St if you want to walk your dog before or after your visit.

Is photography or videography allowed?

Non-commercial photography without flash is typically allowed. For professional shoots or media inquiries, please contact us in advance.

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes! We offer a selection of souvenirs, books, and unique items related to the Pony Express and local history.
